What The Folks: Season 3 Episode 5 Recap - That's All Folks

The day of Shreya's housewarming party is upon us. Vandu has taken her daughter's advice and is determined to "chill" today. She isn't going to nag Kiran today.

At the party, Nikhil and Anita are trying to end the cold war between them and their parents but Kiran and Sudha are very stubborn. Meanwhile, Nikhil and Anita notice Shreya's peculiar behaviour towards one of her colleagues, Balan. Nikhil believes that there is something cooking between Shreya and Balan. Or at least, there is a possibility of them being together.

Anita apologizes to her mom and tries to dissolve the ongoing fight. Initially Sudha is stubborn about her point of view. But eventually she gives in and the fight gets resolved.

At the same time, Nikhil and Kiran indulge in a heartwarming conversation where Nikhil confesses that he doesn't want to have a kid while his father is unhealthy. Kiran is aware of his son's feelings of guilt and forgives him. The story doesn't leave a chance to make me emotional.

Balan asks Shreya out for a date the next day. Also, Shreya is yet to decide whether or not she'll be going to Germany. Once again, it's a decision between heart and mind for Shreya.

Later in the day, the family chit chats and laughs with each other. With all the hard feelings off the table, the day ends well for the folks.

Towards the end of the episode, we see Nikhil giving serious consideration to parenthood. He tells Anita that he's ready to be a father. I expected to see Anita's happiness reach cloud nine. Instead, she's having second thoughts once again. I understand. Having a child is not an easy decision to make.

The finale ends on a happy note as the couple decides to adopt a child. The writers have indeed done a great job with the emotional aspects to the story. But, the overly stretched scenes make this season a slow paced watch.
