The episode opens with Nikhil driving Prakash to the hospital. Midway, Prakash regains consciousness. Nikhil panics and asks if Prakash is fine. The scene becomes 10 times more amusing when Prakash says, “Marne dena mujhe lekin mouth-to-mouth nahi...please”. The conversation couldn’t have gotten funnier. This is some great writing. 

At the hospital, the duo bond over Prakash’s fear of syringes. While Prakash throws tantrums like a 5-year old over the thought of getting an injection, Nikhil holds his hand and reassures him that all will be okay. Surely, this is the most comfortable the two can get with each other.

Anita decides to end the cold war with her parents. After the hospital scenario, she calls up her parents to inquire about her dad’s health. Anita’s character is the most mature in the show. 

Meanwhile, Nikhil loses his temper at the special treatment he has been receiving by Prakash and Sudha since forever. Finally. The setting of the scene is chucklesome. Nikhil sits furiously staring at his in-laws who sit across from him, scared of the scolding they’re about to receive. It is a funny inversion of the parent-child relationship. For the next few minutes, Nikhil rants about wanting equality in the house. He wants to be treated just like Prakash and Sudha treat their biological children.

The ranting gets resolved and the scene takes a comical twist as Prakash and Sudha realise that he is right. They decide to be more honest and comfortable with Nikhil. One by one, in a very light-hearted way, Prakash and Sudha point out his every minor flaw. The interaction reaches its highest level of comedy when Prakash confronts Nikhil and Akshata over their habit of smoking.

Nikhil has finally been accepted in the Sharma parivaar, and the family bonds over a card game and smoothies, in the night. The episode comes to an end as Nikhil gets to know that his work stay in Mumbai is going to be a year. Though Nikhil is content with the decision and is finally getting the love he was expecting from his in-laws, he doesn’t inform Anita right away. 

The season finale ends on the cliffhanger about Anita’s and Nikhil’s future. And the question remains unanswered: what will be Anita’s reaction?
