What Do We Learn from Mirzapur Season 2 Deleted Scenes ?

Amazon Prime has released some never seen before footage on their YouTube handle. Let’s see how these scenes could have changed the original story.

What Do We Learn from Mirzapur Season 2 Deleted Scenes ?

Amazon Prime’s most popular crime drama, Mirzapur, returned for season 2 in 2020. The main motive of this season is to show the unfolding of the burning revenge, with the secondary theme of pawns turning into key players and changing the game.

Spoiler Alert : The scenes discussed here explain major plot lines of Mirzapur season 2

In the last episode we see Beena immediately coming to the conclusion that Munna is going to kill her child when he goes back to the mansion. The following deleted scene might explain her fears.

In the deleted scene we see Munna holding Beena’s child right above a balcony. When Beena asks him to bring the child down, Munna jokes about throwing the child towards her. Then he takes a gun and brings it near the child. Suddenly we hear a loud gunshot. Benna along with the audience is led to believe that Munna has shot the child but in the next scene we see him laughing and the child is safe. He also talks about considering the child his competition to the Mirzapur throne.

This scene clearly demonstrated why Beena over-reacted in the last episode and inclusion of this scene seems quite necessary. One of the reasons why it might have been cut is that it clearly portrays the unsympathetic nature of Munna and might lead to the audience being alienated by his character.

In another deleted scene we see Akhandanand Tripathi asking Madhuri about how things are with Munna and even offers to help her if she faces any sort of problem. We see him reprimand his own son in front of the whole family for not taking care of his wife.

This scene amplifies the hurt Madhuri must have felt when she learns that her father-in-law was only being polite to her so that later he can use their family ties for political gain. The knowledge of being played  strengthens her decision to double cross Akhandanand at the time when she has to propose a new leader for the political party.

We also learn how much angst Munna must have felt when his new wife is given more attention and respect by his father.

In the next deleted scene we see Golu and Shatrughan on a date. Shatrughan is obviously interested and starts the conversation multiple times. Golu gives dead-pan answers. In the end she doesn’t let him pay for the date and divides the bill. All this tells us about the amount of control Golu wants to exercise. In the show, we don’t see Shatrughan and Golu’s relationship evolve much but the manipulation on Golu’s part is quite evident.

We are all very excited to see what roles these characters are going to play in the next season of Mirzapur.
