The Family Man Season 2 Episode 5 Recap: Homecoming
In this episode of The Family Man 2, Raji goes back to where it all started and Umayal joins TASC’s investigation.

The fifth episode of The Family Man season 2 begins with Srikant and JK in jail. Despite their recurring claims that they are from the Indian Intelligence, inspector Umayal doesn’t believe them and puts them in lock up for the night. JK persuades Umayal to call his boss, Sharma, from his phone but he has saved Sharma’s name as a cuss word. Umayal thinks he is trying to mess with her and puts JK’s phone in a bucket full of water.
Sajid and Selva analyse the airplane at Tigris Aviation Flying School. Raji also reaches there. Selva asks her if everything is fine since she arrived early. She says that police are looking for her but everything is under control.
The next morning, Muthu reaches the police station to get Srikant and JK out of jail. Umayal apologises to them. Muthu tells Srikant that the house they were arrested at is the rebel Raji’s house. Muthu shows them the picture of Raji. Srikant recalls that this is the same girl he and JK bumped into.
In Mumbai, Suchi is at work. Arvind learns that Srikant is in Chennai. He initiates an awkward conversation about something that happened in the past but Suchi says that that chapter is closed. Arvind is upset that Suchi doesn’t even want to talk about it.
Muthu drives Srikant and JK back from the police station. Srikant calls Dhriti but she doesn’t pick up yet again. He then calls Atharv who gives him the report of what is going on at home. Srikant learns that Suchi went back to work the day after Srikant left for Chennai. Srikant tells his son to keep giving him updates about whatever happens at home. After he hangs up, JK casually mocks Srikant’s clumsy family situation, forgetting that Muthu understands Hindi. This makes for a comical scene.
Suchi goes up to talk to Arvind. She apologises for being rude to him and says that she isn’t in a very good mental state at the moment. Arvind says he understands and doesn’t hold a grudge against her.
Umayal visits the temporary office where Srikant and team are working. She hands over the post-mortem reports of Nanda to them. Raji killed Nanda with her bare hands which suggests that she is a trained fighter. Umayal expresses her wish to be a part of TASC’s investigation and Srikant agrees.
The TASC team analyses a video of the rebels’ camp. Subbu, Bhaskaran and Deepan can be seen in the video. They also spot Raji. She is a part of the rebels’ elite unit, a commando. Srikant instructs the team to circulate the photos of all the rebels in the video.
Next, we see a ship called Local 52 in Southern Sri Lanka. There is some communication with the captain of the ship. At the flying school, Selva explains the plan to the team and gives them new phones.
Sambit calls Deepan because the NIA detected some activity in one of the communication channels of Sri Lanka which was dead for 10 years. Sambit and Kulkarni suspect that Bhaskaran is planning something against India. Deepan says he will look into it and get back to them.
TASC manages to intercept the communication between the rebels. They find two main keywords - ‘Veeraranyam’ and ‘Local 52’. Veeraranyam is the main hub of Tamil rebels. The team has no idea what Local 52 means. Srikant suggests that they ask the Sri Lankan government for any information they may have about Raji.
Deepan visits Bhaskaran’s place and through their conversation he gauges that something is off. As he leaves, he calls Sambit and confirms his doubts about Bhaskaran. Indian RAW agents are outside Bhaskaran’s house keeping an eye on him 24x7.
Selva, Raji and Sajid leave from the flying school to go to Sri Lanka to get the material required for their mission. Selva takes a different vehicle and route to avoid suspicion.
At ShrinkMe, Nikhil (the CEO) informs the team that a client loved the pitch and they will require a demo by next week. Arvind and Suchi are supposed to work on it. Nikhil also adds that Arvind and Suchi might have to travel to London to present the demo.
Umayal accompanies JK as he goes to buy a new phone. She offers to pay but JK politely declines. They form a friendly bond.
The terrorists are on their way to Veeraranyam to meet Jebaraj the smuggler who will guide them about directions and coast guard timings. TASC is also on their way to Veeraranyam.
Selva meets Jebaraj who is an alcoholic. Jebaraj tells him that all routes to Sri Lanka are safe. They can leave tonight and finish the job. Selva warns Jebaraj to not drink on the job.
At Veeraranyam, rebel sympathizers are rounded up at the police station. They are interviewed but no one knows anything about the rebels’ plan or Local 52.
A pizza delivery arrives at Bhaskaran’s home. Sameer has sent it. Sameer tells Bhaskaran to go underground as he suspects that Indians are watching him. The pizza box has tickets, passport and other documents for the same.
In Mumbai, Suchi asks her kids if they would come to her office the next day for ‘Family Day’. Dhriti is angry with her parents and declines but Atharv agrees.
Selva instructs Jebaraj to take Sajid and Raji to Point Pedro to procure the required material while Selva will wait for them at the coast.
The TASC team sits for drinks at night. JK and Umayal sit together while Srikant is aloof, thinking about his family. Milind and Muthu get talking. Muthu knows about everything that happened in Delhi. Milind says that he is grateful to Zoya and the two raise a toast to her.
While waiting for Jebaraj, Raji recalls her trauma. She is angry at the Rupatunga government for killing her men. She also adds that Basu and Rupatunga have always been close allies. “I will kill all of them”, she says to Sajid. They reach Point Pedro and Jebaraj leads them to a jungle. He points at a spot and Sajid and Raji start digging.
The RAW agents outside Bhaskaran’s home notice that the lights of his home haven’t come on since evening. They break into his house and find that Bhaskaran is gone.
Sajid and Raji finally find a box of explosives. They hear indistinct radio chatter in the distance. This means Sri Lankan officers are present there. The terrorists kill the officers and also Jebaraj as he threatens to report them. Successfully taking the material with them, Raji and Sajid sail back to the port.
This episode of The Family Man Season 2 is very thrilling. How will TASC manage to stop the rebels from executing their plan in the upcoming episodes of The Family Man 2?
