The Family Man Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: Eagle

The fourth episode starts with a flashback in Northern Sri Lanka. Selva introduces Raji to Bhaskaran. She is their best fighter pilot. Bhaskaran welcomes her and honours her with a badge of the rebels. In the present day, Raji cuts the pieces of her boss’s dead body and puts them into separate trash bags. We see a bottle of formaldehyde kept on the bathroom floor. The fourth episode of The Family Man Season 2 has a graphic start.

In Mumbai, Srikant visits Jonali’s home. He apologises to her for all that she had to go through with respect to Kareem’s death. Srikant confesses the truth that Kareem wasn’t a terrorist and adds that his death is on Srikant’s conscience. However, she is angry and says that she will never forgive him. Srikant is aware that she slyly recorded their conversation. He says that she is free to use it however she wants and he is ready to bear the consequences of his actions.

In London, Bhaskaran introduces Sameer to his friend, Meyappan who is selling an aviation school in Chennai. Sameer buys the aviation school from him.

Raji drops one of the trash bags which contains parts of Nanda’s body in a pond.

Srikant prepares to leave for Chennai. The kids know that their parents are not on talking terms. Srikant tells the kids that he will call them every day. Dhriti isn’t happy because her father is leaving and her parents are bitter with each other. Suchi and Srikant don’t even exchange any parting words.

The police arrive at the factory in Chennai to investigate the case of Nanda’s disappearance.

Chennai’s TASC officer Muthu picks up Srikant and JK from the airport and Milind is also with them! Some banter about South Indian food follows in the car. Srikant tries calling Dhriti but she doesn’t pick up since she is angry with him.

At the factory, the police interview all the employees including Raji. Inspector Umayal asks Raji some general questions and whether Nandu was a good boss or not. In order to evade any suspicion, Raji says he was a good man.

In Mumbai, Suchi reaches ShrinkMe’s beautiful office. Arvind shows her around and welcomes her with flowers and a sweet note.

In Chennai, preparations are underway for bilateral talks. The TASC team is given the task of ensuring the safety of the PM. They set up a temporary base in an old guest house and discuss a plan of action. When Srikant and JK are alone, JK asks him about where he stands with Suchi. Srikant tells JK that he and Suchi are on a break. Shifting the topic of the conversation, Srikant says that only Chellam will be able to give them the information that they need about rebel safehouses. However, the super paranoid Chellam is in ghost mode after the incident with Subbu.

Selva holds a meeting of the team as instructed by Bhaskaran. The team consists of ex-rebels - Raji, Karthik, Prabhu and Sajid. Raji will lead the operation which will take off from Tigris Aviation Flying School, the flying school that Sameer bought.

Raji and Selva start talking and we learn that Raji’s mother killed herself last year after being in a refugee camp for three years. The dead face of her younger brother haunts her every night. Raji says that she is only alive for the Tamil cause.

Srikant and JK reach a fish market and speak a coded sentence in broken Tamil to one of the sellers. They tell the seller to convey to the “captain” to “meet personally and give stingray”. Looks like they’re trying to make contact with Chellam.

Dhriti hasn’t heard from Kalyan all day and she spams his phone with messages and calls. He finally picks up her call, angry and irritated. He tells her to stop calling him but she rebukes him for suddenly ghosting on her. Kalyan tells her that he has some family problems and he can’t see her again. He cooks up a story that his father learned that he is seeing someone and so Kalyan can’t talk to Dhriti anymore. He adds that he has real feelings for her. Crying, Dhriti hangs up the phone. The next moment, Kalyan texts her to meet him tomorrow. But isn’t Kalyan supposed to cut all ties with her?

The best friend duo, Srikant and JK go out to dinner at a restaurant in Chennai. JK calls Srikant a “shaadi shuda Devdas” and insists that he mend his relationship with Suchi. At that moment, Srikant gets a message from an unknown number about a time and location. This is Chellam.

Raji goes to drop another trash bag.

Milind gets up in the middle of the night as the trauma of the incident at Orion Chemicals still haunts him. He goes out for a smoke. JK also comes out as he can’t sleep due to the intense Chennai heat. Milind is disturbed and asks JK if they really are the good guys. We learn that 48 people died in the Orion Chemicals gas leak and many more were hospitalised. JK makes him look at the bigger picture and the thousands of lives they saved in Delhi.

Dhriti meets Kalyan at a café after school and they patch up. Kalyan tells her that he has issues with his father but Dhriti says that they’ll figure it out together. They kiss and he invites her home. Has Salman started liking Dhriti for real?

At the Tigris Aviation Flying School, Selva, Sajid and the other terrorists uncover an airplane.

Kalyan takes Dhriti to what he calls his uncle’s apartment. Dhriti asks him whether his uncle is Muslim as she sees Islam scriptures on the wall. Kalyan tells her that it is a rented apartment and the landlord is Muslim. They are about to share an intimate moment when suddenly, the doorbell rings and Kalyan freaks out. He lives there with a man who is also a part of Sajid’s plan. He hides Dhriti in the bathroom and opens the door. The man enters and sees Dhriti’s school bag. He angrily asks Kalyan if he brought someone to the apartment. Dhriti hears this and comes out of the bathroom herself. She tells Kalyan’s uncle (the man) that she came over for homework. After she leaves, the man beats Salman up for bringing a girl to the apartment.

Srikant and JK reach the eatery where Chellam had called them. They wait for Chellam for a long time, sweating in the heat. But guess what? Chellam is already sitting on the table behind them. He asks them to not look back and just pick up the newspaper he is reading after he leaves. Srikant turns back to say something to him but Chellam is already gone. Srikant picks up the newspaper and it has a list of all the rebels’ safehouses.

During the investigation of Nanda’s disappearance at the factory, a worker tells inspector Umayal that the boss had a liking for Raji and she was disgusted by it. The worker also saw Raji get into Nanda’s car the day before he went missing. The inspector calls for Raji but she hasn’t turned up for work. The police reach her home but find out that it is the wrong address. Then, they track the last location of Raji’s phone and it turns out, it is similar to the last location of Nanda’s phone.

Srikant and team leave to check the rebels’ safehouses. Meanwhile, the police’s search for Raji is also on. Finally, the police reach Raji’s home as she is about to step out of her house to drop another trash bag. Inspector Umayal questions her and Raji reveals that she was indeed disgusted by Nanda but couldn’t say anything as she feared losing her job. Umayal asks her about the strong smell of chemicals in her house but Raji dismisses it as the stench of the drainage. The trash bag falls on the floor from Raji’s hand due to its weight. Although this raises Umayal’s suspicions, she leaves Raji’s house. Umayal also tells Raji to not leave town without her permission and to report to the police station daily. A dead body is found and Umayal reaches the morgue with Nanda’s wife for the identification of the body. However, the body isn’t Nanda’s. The morgue has a smell similar to that of Raji’s home. Umayal asks the doctor about it who tells her that it is the smell of the chemical formaldehyde which is used to preserve dead bodies. This alerts Umayal and she goes back to Raji’s house.

Raji is running away from her house but she bumps into Srikant and JK who are still checking the rebels’ safehouses. Srikant asks Raji for directions and they part. Next, we see Umayal barge into Raji’s house only to find it vacant. But she spots someone in the bathroom. She immediately points her gun at two men present in the bathroom with their mouth covered. And…those two men are Srikant and JK.

This episode of The Family Man Season 2 is very engaging and tightly knit. Different stories move in tandem with each other which keeps the viewers hooked.
