The sixth episode of The Family Man opens in ISIS controlled Syria. We’re taken back one year when Faizan and Major Sameer are discussing Al Qatil, a competent member of ISIS whose chemical bombs have been responsible for various terrorist attacks in the past. They want to take him out of ISIS by taking him out of Syria and use him for their own terrorist activities. Considering what happened at the end of the last episode, it seems like Faizan and Sameer are talking about Moosa.
It doesn’t come as much of a shock when we see Faizan and Sameer meeting Moosa in the next scene. Sameer appears quite impressed with Moosa or Al Qatil and asks him to join Mission Zulfiqar.
In Srinagar, Srikant meets his commanding officer, Saloni. They used to be colleagues at some point and seem to have some history. She acquaints him with their make-shift office and tells him to settle down. Srikant apprises her about Mission Zulfiqar and its key asset that has travelled to Srinagar.
In the hospital, JK investigates Asif’s death. The reports show that he died by cardiac arrest but the doctors find this surprising as Asif was out of coma and his condition was stable. Mary looks tensed. JK asks the nurses if they have any information regarding his death but Mary stays mum. He informs Srikant about Asif’s death and also tells him that Sharma, their boss, wants to reduce the security in the hospital. Srikant advises against it. JK tells him that with Pasha suspended, there’s only so much that he can do alone. JK appoints Zoya, Milind and another junior analyst from TASC, Jayesh to keep an eye on Moosa’s ward while he appeals for Moosa’s judicial custody.
Starting her new job, Suchi meets Arvind at a café which is the workplace of the team until they get the funds for an office. She is the VP of Marketing in their start-up. She doesn’t carry her laptop as Dhriti needs it at home. Watching her take down notes in a diary, Arvind gives Suchi his laptop and tells her to keep it. He really seems to be into her.
Srikant, Saloni and their team of army officers reach a safehouse following intel about Basharat Ali. Basharat is a master terrorist in Kashmir. While the officers go inside to search for Basharat, Srikant and Saloni share a moment outside. They seem to have some unresolved conflicts from a failed romantic relationship. The team returns with no information as Basharat has already escaped.
In Mumbai, the kids insist that Suchi take them for an outing. She takes them to a mall where they eat, shop and have a fun time. At night, Srikant calls home, hears about the fun day and feels left out.
Srikant searches for Basharat Ali in the TASC interface. A picture of Basharat with Faizan and Al Qatil pops up with only their eyes showing. Something strikes him and he searches for Al Qatil next. Without a picture, Al Qatil’s biography has the words “chemical bomb”, “Syria” and “India” in it. These words remind him of someone. He then searches for Moosa. His biography has the same three words. Using AI technology, he tries to match Moosa’s eyes with Al Qatil’s eyes which comes out to be an 80% match. He puts the pieces together and immediately calls JK to inform him that Moosa is Al Qatil, the wanted terrorist. JK and Pasha leave for the hospital immediately and ask for an increase in the security of the hospital which is reluctantly granted to them by Sharma.
Next, we see a senior doctor question Mary about her activity in Asif’s room. He has records which show that her access card was the last to be punched in Asif’s ward and that too minutes before his death. Mary is tense and doesn’t say anything.
Some strange men enter the hospital. We learn that they have come to take Moosa. They have a sleeper cell working in the hospital who lets them in through the back gate and also tells them about the number of security personnel present. Bilal, the leader of the gang, kills two security guards in the hospital’s control room. Jayesh is in the washroom when he gets a call from JK to be vigilant and on high alert as something big might happen. As Jayesh gets out, Bilal attacks him and a fist fight ensues. Finally, Bilal kills Jayesh. The group reaches the main floor and kills the nurses and security personnel there. They free Moosa and are about to take him when Zoya spots a security breach. She immediately alerts Milind who arrives on the scene. An exchange of gunshots from both sides follows. JK and Pasha also arrive during this time and Pasha kills some of Bilal’s men. Pasha spots a black car which has Moosa and instructs the backup officers to go after it. JK and Pasha go back inside the hospital. Oh no! What happens next is shocking. Bilal comes out of the lift with a loaded gun. Pasha bears many gunshots and dies. This is an appalling moment. JK manages to hide while Milind heroically comes in and kills Bilal. After this bloody encounter, Zoya, Milind and JK gather around Pasha’s body and grieve.
Turns out, Moosa is still in the hospital. He kills Mary so that she doesn’t say a word about him when he is gone and escapes.
In this episode, we get to see a new side of Moosa, the Al Qatil side. He looks dangerous and seems to be up to something big.
