Thalaivi is a biopic based on the life of Indian actress turned politician, J. Jayalalithaa. It has already created ripples of excitement amongst entertainment fans. The film stars Kangana Ranaut as the five time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Jayalalithaa made her way through the misogynistic attitude of politicians in India and became one of the most powerful figures in Indian politics. She also came to be called 'Amma' by her supporters. Her struggles - From being a popular actress of the South to a member of AIADMK party is seen in the film. She was known as the 'Queen of Tamil Films'. She went through a lot of humiliations and battles to become an inspiration for her people. 

Directed by A.L. Vijay, the impressive trailer has succeeded in stimulating the audience. People are going gaga over it and cannot wait for the biopic to release. Kangana's performance is already gaining a lot of appreciation. The four time national award winner and Padmashri recipient is again set to win hearts. 

The film is produced by Zee Studios and Vibri Media. It was all set to release on 23rd April, 2021, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the release date has been postponed.
