Sunflower Season 1 Episode 8 Recap: A Chase
Sonu finds himself in a whole new mess, oblivious to the fact that the police has accused him as the prime suspect in the case of Mr. Kapoor’s death.

The last episode of Sunflower begins with a flashback montage. Sonu is all dressed up, with a bouquet of flowers, sitting in a cab. He is dropped off at a wedding party. Alone, he goes around enjoying the party. After having food, he finally goes up on the stage and gives the bouquet to the bride. At this moment, Mr. Kapoor and his wife are also on the stage and they end up getting a photograph clicked. This is the photograph which Tambe got hold of. The one in which he saw Sonu and Mr. Kapoor together and believed that the two knew each other well.
In the next scene, we see Tambe visiting the Sunflower society. He goes up and rings Sonu’s house bell. However, Sonu is not at home. He is still in the hospital with the old man. Meanwhile, DG goes to Juhi Jalan’s house. Juhi is the girl whose wedding Sonu went to. Here, we learn that Juhi is Sonu’s ex-girlfriend. Juhi tells DG that she used to work as Mr. Kapoor’s secretary two years back. When asked if Sonu and Mr. Kapoor knew each other, Juhi narrates an incident. She tells DG that Kapoor wanted her to break up with Sonu since Mr. Kapoor did not think well of him. One day in a restaurant, when Kapoor was trying to convince her to get over Sonu and date another man, Sonu overheard the conversation. This incident makes DG believe that Sonu is the murderer. He is now under the impression that Sonu killed Kapoor because he played an important role in arranging Sonu’s break-up with Juhi.
DG prints a search warrant for Sonu. Tambe goes around looking for him. Tambe arrives in the hospital where Sonu is waiting with the old man. A nurse guides Tambe to the old man. The old man tells Tambe that he is unaware of where Sonu is now.
Sonu goes to a duplicate key maker. Sonu asks the key maker to go to his flat in Sunflower society and unlock his house there. Meanwhile, Sonu sits at his shop as a replacement. While the key maker is at his job trying to unlock flat number 802, DG and his team of policemen arrive. They go inside Sonu’s house and start rummaging through the house for solid evidence against him.
Sitting at the key maker’s shop, Sonu is upto some antics yet again. While he is busy playing with the table fan, someone comes from behind and covers Sonu’s head with a black hood. Sonu has been kidnapped.
Now since Sonu is kidnapped, Tambe arrives at the shop to find no one. As time passes, the circumstances conspire against Sonu even though he is innocent. Tambe and DG’s belief that Sonu is the murderer strengthens.
We learn that Sonu has been kidnapped by Gurleen’s husband and his men. We see them taking Sonu to Punjab, perhaps Chandigarh.
At Sonu’s house, DG finds three syringes in his bedside drawer which is indeed alarming. And then finally, DG gets his hands on the dreaded coconut shell in the dustbin which has been travelling from one place to another for a while now. DG learns that this is the coconut the water of which killed Mr. Kapoor. The weapon of the killer has been found by the police. They are certain beyond doubt now that the culprit is Sonu Singh. However, Sonu Singh is not in town anymore. How will the police find him? Will Sonu get a chance to redeem himself? What will happen to his best employee tag? And most of them all, will the real culprit go free?
The show ends on a cliffhanger and leaves a bunch of unanswered questions. For the ones who watched the first season, the second season of this riveting murder mystery will be highly anticipated.
