Sunflower Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: A Break-in
Mr. Ahuja tries to get rid of evidence while the police interrogate Sonu.

The second episode begins with Sonu serving Tambe, the sub-inspector, who is at Sonu’s place for investigation. Meanwhile, DG asks Sonu about the food he had the previous night. He asks him why he trashed Chinese food, without even opening the boxes. Sonu tells DG that he ordered this food but by the time it came, he had eaten bread omelette. Therefore he did not consume the Chinese food he had ordered for himself. And because his refrigerator is not working properly, the food became stale and he had to dump it.
DG goes and checks the refrigerator. It is working fine. Sonu explains that there is an issue with the wire attached to the socket. Therefore, it wasn’t working the other day but is working now.
DG tells Sonu that Mr. Kapoor, who lived in the flat just above Sonu’s, had also ordered Chinese food from the same place as Sonu the previous day. Tambe informs Sonu that they have found that Mr. Kapoor died of a poison called Bromethalin. Sonu begins to thank Micky for saving his life. DG asks him who is Micky. Sonu responds that Micky is a mouse roaming around in his house. He believes the mouse nibbled the refrigerator wire which led to it not working. Thereby, the food became stale and prevented Sonu from consuming it which in turn saved his life. Sonu then informs the officers that he used a rat poison that had Bromethalin. Tambe asks Sonu to show him the bottle of this rat poison. Sonu says he has lost the bottle.
DG and Tambe then leave, asking Sonu to not leave the city and keep his mobile phone switched on at all times.
While the two officers interrogate Sonu at his house, Mr. and Mrs. Ahuja take out the coconut shell from the flower pot they had put it in. Then they pull out the syringe which they used to inject the poison. They try to flush it in but achieve no success.
We are taken into the bedroom of the Ahujas. We see a flashback in which the sound of Mr. Kapoor playing table tennis irritates Mr. Ahuja while having sex with his wife. He gets infuriated and goes to Mr. Kapoor’s. It seems Mr. Ahuja and Mr. Kapoor are not on good terms at all. Mr. Ahuja yells at Mr. Kapoor to not play games and make noise at such a late hour. However, Mr. Kapoor rebukes Mr. Ahuja and shoos him away from his house. This probably is the motive for Mr. Ahuja’s actions.
Next, we see Tambe visiting the restaurant Ching Chow, from which Mr. Kapoor and Sonu had ordered food. The next day, Tambe and his team go and arrest a young man living in a slum area. Tambe shows him the CCTV footage of Mr. Kapoor’s building in Sunflower Society and asks him why it took 40 minutes for him to deliver food to two people. He tells Tambe that it was due to a moron. But, the scene changes immediately and we are not told who this man is.
In the next scene, we see Mr. Ahuja trying to enter Mr. Kapoor’s balcony from his house. It suddenly strikes him that the straw which Mr. Kapoor had used to drink the coconut water must be lying in the house. In order to quash all the evidence by throwing away that straw, Mr. Ahuja is extremely restless. After not being able to jump to the other balcony, he thinks of another way out to enter Mr. Kapoor’s apartment. Mr. Ahuja goes into Mr. Kapoor’s apartment through his bathroom window. Just as he enters the apartment and starts looking for the straw, Tambe the sub-inspector comes into the flat with a girl to spend the night. What a strange turn of events! Mr. Ahuja hides behind a sofa and ends up spending the whole night there.
Mr. Ahuja wakes up to the police investigating the apartment while he lies flat behind a three-seater sofa. He somehow goes unnoticed but is not able to get to the straw. One of the police officers notices the straw and picks it up along with other items. Mr. Ahuja is now in trouble.
