The episode begins with Farooq inquiring about Hafiz’s unknown third wife from Ismail. He learns that her name is Sadiya and that Hafiz made her a suicide bomber on Ikhlaq Khan’s orders. Ismail also mentions that any time a conflict comes up, Hafiz always uses Khan’s name to hush it up.

Farooq informs Himmat about the upcoming bomb blasts in Delhi and the existence of Sadiya. He promises to find more information about her during his meeting with Hafiz.

We see Ruhani and Avinash go to a safe house hidden in a desert.

Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh
September 2013

We see Sadiya and a young girl, Farah hiding from the riots taking place in the city. In the next scene we see Farah being abducted by some men in a van.

Back to the present, the Pakistani delegate arrives in Delhi. The delegate and his personal security goes to a hotel for bil-lateral talks where Surya welcomes them.

Himmat goes to the location where Abbas has planned Nayak’s interrogation. Nayak has high BP and is given chocolate to eat. Abbas leaves soon as he finds someone linked to the attacks on Himmat.

Himmat begins the interrogation and for the first time he is not calm and hints that he might use violent measures by bringing a stick. Himmat slaps him and asks Nayak about Noor. Nayak tells him that he was ordered by Noor to get a woman from the 2013 Muzzaffarnagar riots to Pakistan. Noor wanted this woman to marry a commander of his as a symbolism of humanity. We learn that this woman was Sadiya Querishi and Farah was her younger sister.

Abbas finds the person handling the attacker who tried to shoot Himmat. The handler tells him that their assignment was to scare a businessman from Delhi. After some interrogation, Abbas learns the name of the person who had given him the contract.

In UAE, Farooq and Hafiz meet Bakhtiyar Khan. Khan is given the assignment to find Ismail and figure out the reason for his betrayal. Hafiz orders Farooq to accompany him to Islamabad. Suddenly, Farooq asks him if Sadiya is from Islamabad too. When Hafiz’s face goes blank, Farooq informs him that he learnt about Sadiya from Ismail. Hafiz tells him that he was forced  by Ikhlaq Khan to  marry Sadiya . 
Back at Nayak’s interrogation room, Himmat learns that Hafiz is not the name of the commander to whom Sadiya was married. Himmat shows him Hafiz’s picture and Nayak says that this is indeed the groom but his name is Ikhlaq Khan. Himmat steps back for a moment. His mouth hangs open as he tries to calm himself down. He has a flashback of all the key moments of his 19 year long operation.

In Delhi, we learn that Surya and Mansoor, the delegate’s personal security, are friends. Surya receives a call from Himmat notifying him about Sadiya’s plan.

Farooq calls the agent that was hiding with Ismail and orders him to shoot Ismail and leave the place immediately. Farooq reaches the safe house where Avinash and Ruhani are and calls Himmat. Himmat and Farooq say ‘Hafiz is Ikhlaq Khan’ at the same time and surprise each other. Ruhani tells Himmat that they don’t have the funds to carry out an operation to eliminate Hafiz. Himmat still plans to go forward with it.

Chaddha receives a call from Himmat. Himmat asks for Rs 25 lakh. When Chaadha questions why he would help Himmat by arranging the money, Himmat name drops Sweta Thapar and hints that he is aware of Chadha’s connection with her. Chaddha asks him what Himmat will do if he refuses. Himmat then tells him that the police has custody of the goons Sweta had sent to attack him.

The next day, Himmat sits in his office and coordinates the Hafiz operation and Surya’s investigation at the same time. Nayak is brought to the control room to identify Sadiya who will probably try to infiltrate the hotel security to kill the Pakistani delegate. Surya takes the delegate to the holding area of the press conference. We see Sadiya and Farah enter the parking lot of the hotel.

Nayak asks for something to eat but the constable in charge refuses to help. Mansoor helps Farah enter the hotel and gives her and Sadiya a room to prepare themselves with the suicide vests. Nayak sees Sadiya on the screen but dies before he can inform the constable.

Sadiya and Farah enter the press conference. Mansoor tells Farah to press a button when the Pakistani delegate sits.

In UAE, Avinash positions his sniper rifle in place over a hilltop adjacent to the road where Hafiz’s car will pass. Hafiz and Farooq are in the car when Bakhtiyar informs Hafiz that he has found the agent who killed Ismail and through interrogation has learnt about the real identity of Amjad. Amjad’s real name is Farooq and he is an Indian spy.

Hafiz, now planning to test Bakhtiyar’s story, says Amjad’s real name casually. As a reflex, Farooq turns and says ‘Yes?’. Hafiz immediately grabs his neck and tries strangling him. 

Avinash shoots at the tyres of the car and it crashes.

As Hafiz crawls out of the wrecked car, Avinash takes out his security men. Farooq now has Hafiz at gunpoint and calls Himmat on speaker phone. Himmat says his real name and Hafiz instantly recognises Himmat as the man at the window during the Parliament attack investigation. Ikhlaq Khan tells Himmat that his victory of catching him will only last a moment because he has one last move set in place. Farooq shoots Ikhlaq in the head.

Himmat instructs Ruhani to extract information from Ikhlaq’s phone. Himmat calls and informs Surya that he believes someone from the delegate’s team is helping the terrorists in the hotel. Just as he hears this, Surya sees Mansoor walking out of the hotel through a back door. Surya kills Mansoor when he tries to reach for his gun. 

Ruhani forwards Sadiya and Farah’s pic extracted from Khan’s phone to Surya. 

In Delhi, the delegate enters the meeting but Farah doesn’t do anything. Surya finds Farah in the crowd and takes her away. In the next scene, we hear an announcement in the auditorium asking Sadiya to meet her sister in the lounge. Sadiya runs out and goes towards the lounge where she is surrounded by an anti-bomb squad. Surya is informed that none of them woman have suicide vests on them. In a flashback we see Sadiya backing out of the operation when she gets emotional about the death of her sister. When Surya informs Himmat of this, he asks him to seal Mansoor’s room and let the women go.

We see Noor shocked when no blasts take place during the live telecast of the bi-lateral talks meeting he is watching from Pakistan.

In the credits scene we see Sonya is still alive.

I think Special OPS is my favourite Hindi web-series of all time and I loved every second of it. The location and the plot of the story were very engaging and kept me intrigued until the very last moment.

I was a bit disappointed how the blast situation was stopped just because of a spur of the moment emotional decision, but the Farooq and Ikhlaq confrontation filled the void that story arc caused in the climax.

A spin-off of Special OPS, about Himmat’s story and his earlier days is in the works. I hope it matches the grandness and allure of this show. Neeraj Pandey is writing for it once again so it’s probably going to be amazing.
