Sara’s is an upcoming Malayalam film on Amazon Prime Video which will release on 5th July 2021. 

Sara is an aspiring filmmaker whose choice to not have children disturbs her family and society around her. She meets Jeevan whose life choices match with hers and they hit it off. However, their relationship is not without external pressures. 

The first scene of the trailer lays out Sara's grandmother’s expectations that Sara will give them a son. “I don’t want to give birth”, says Sara in the next scene. This introduces us to the theme of the movie. The trailer takes us along Sara's journey from her adolescence to adulthood. She meets Jeevan whose only job is to look after his sister’s kids and this leads to his aversion to having children, just like Sara. Sara connects with Jeevan and the two share some sweet moments but things soon get serious. We see Sara pitching her story ideas to producers but her ideas are too ‘feminist’ for them, a far cry from the conventional action and drama of Malayalam cinema. All of this is shown with light-hearted humour and various eccentricities of the characters and their relationships. 

All in all, the trailer gives us a sneak peek into a fun and quirky story highlighting the impact one’s family and society has on their life choices. This movie looks like an interesting watch! Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, Sara’s stars Anna Ben, Sunny Wayne, Siju Wilson and Aju Varghese.
