Mohan Kumar Fans is a Malayalam comedy drama film. The film is available on Amazon Prime. The Jis Joy directed film features Siddique, Kunchacko Boban and Anarkali Nazar in the lead roles. The film is produced by Listin Stephen under the banner of Magic Frames.

Mohan Kumar Fans, as the title suggests, revolves around a veteran actor, Mohan Kumar and his fandom. Mohan has made a comeback in cinema after a very long time with a great on screen performance. Those who have seen the film are sure that Mohan will receive a state or national award for the film.

But, destiny plays a game with Mohan. The film he has acted in goes through a rough phase after big banner films make their way to the screens.

The stories of other struggling artists are also shown in the film. The other characters include Krishna Unni, a struggling singer who works as a driver for Mohan Kumar. Krishna is one of Mohan’s biggest fans and so, does not feel ashamed to work for him as a driver. He also dreams of becoming a great celebrity one day. His family has faith in him but unfortunately, Krishna Unni does not get enough chances to showcase his talent.

Another character, Kripesh is a self centered yet hilarious man. He is a terrible dancer and dreams to become a famous actor someday. He is ready to use cheap strategies for publicity. The loudness of his character is what makes him different from others.

Mohan Kumar Fans bring out the difficulties of surviving in the film industry, especially for those artists who do not have a great connection in the industry.

The first half of the film is light hearted and fun to watch but in the second half the film becomes quite intense. Jis Joy has been known for making feel-good movies and here too his direction in Mohan Kumar Fans stands out.

The film is a good watch, but cannot be called a perfect blend of emotions. The emotions in the film could have been expressed on screen with more passion. I could not feel the complete involvement of the actors in the film. But, if you want to go for a film with a light hearted yet moralistic story, then Mohan Kumar Fans is the answer.
