Mismatched Season 1 Episode 4 Recap: Making Moves

The series, Mismatched, wastes no time in this episode which begins with Namrata telling Rishi that she likes Celina. Rishi asks her to go for it and tell Celina. Namrata is hesitant. She is not sure if Celina is into girls. Rishi encourages her to find out but Namrata doesn’t agree to tell Celina upfront for the moment.

Rishi comes to Dimple’s room to help her with the app. They divide their tasks and start working.

Zeenat calls Anmol and asks him to meet her to discuss their app. Anmol is not interested and refuses. Zeenat entices him with the delicious mutton biryani she has cooked. Anmol changes her mind at the thought of delicious home-cooked food.

Zeenat, actually hadn’t cooked any biryani. She immediately starts the preparation and puts it together. Meanwhile, Anmol circulates a message amongst all the students inviting them to Zeenat's place for a party.

Anmol and Krish arrive at Zeenat’s. One by one, more students start to come. Food deliveries from outside also start to arrive. Zeenat is perplexed. She thought the guest for the night was only Anmol.

Celina texts Namrata inviting her for Zeenat’s party. Namrata is apprehensive and unsure whether she should go or not. So she calls Rishi. Rishi encourages her to go and thinks it is a good opportunity for Namrata to confess her feelings to Celina.

Meanwhile, Dimple also gets a call from Celina asking her if she’s coming to the party. Dimple excuses herself on the pretext of work.

Rishi and Dimple work on their app.

Celina comes to pick Namrata up. Namrata is all dolled up. Celina compliments her. Namrata blushes.

The party at Zeenat’s is quite happening. Everyone is enjoying themselves.

Namrata’s dad calls Rishi to know if she is with him. Rishi tells him that she is in the library and he will drop her home safely. He then rushes to Zeenat’s house to pick Namrata. However, as he sees Namrata enjoying herself at the party, he calls her dad and lies to him saying that Namrata has slept at a friend’s dorm.

Meanwhile, Zeenat drunk calls Sid and asks him to come over to her place.

Now Dimple is the only one who is not at the party. She receives text messages from Celina and Rishi describing how ‘lit’ the party is.

Sid also joins the party. The students weren’t expecting him to be there so they get awkward seeing him - their professor and definitely an adult - enter.

Sid springs into action. First, he sobers down the extremely drunk Zeenat. He then scolds the students for all the drugs, drinks and cigarettes at the party. However, it turns out that he isn’t serious while scolding them and requests the DJ to start playing music again.

Dimple finally makes it to the party.

Krish and Simran are making out in a corner. Krish is upset that Simran refuses to go past first base even though they’ve been together for ten months. He leaves in anger.

Everyone at the party is scattered in groups of 2 or 3. Most of them are drunk. Celina is wandering around. Namrata is looking for her. She feels upset that Celina is not spending enough time with her. She asks Rishi if it’s a sign that she doesn’t like her. Rishi is not of this view. He gives her a hug while consoling her.

Dimple is not able to find her space in the party. Everyone seems to be having fun. Some people are with their partners, some with drinks and drugs. So she goes out and calls her parents. After having a word with them, she feels refreshed.

Dimple goes up to Harsh, the DJ for the night with her song request of ‘Jab koi baat bigad jaaye...’. Harsh refuses to play it, claiming that it will put everyone to sleep. During this conversation, he points out that Dimple is such an antisocial girl. The word ‘antisocial’ strikes a chord with Dimple and she comes up with a new idea for her app.

Sid sees Rishi at the party and feels happy that he didn’t leave the course and the institute. Sid motivates Rishi to keep working in the kitchen.

Dimple is very confident about her new idea. She runs up to Sid in the kitchen to share it right away. However, he is a bit drunk so she doesn’t tell him her idea then.

Namrata and Celina finally reunite. Celina is quite tipsy. Her behaviour while dancing with Namrata is reassuring - she starts to feel that maybe Celina likes her back.

Dimple is sitting alone in a corner outside. Rishi joins her. They talk about her new app idea, ‘The Antisocial Network’. She explains that the app will be for ‘antisocial’ people like her - to help them survive parties. While chatting, Rishi realizes that Dimple thinks he and Namrata are together. So he clarifies her assumption and tells her that they are just really close friends. Dimple refuses to believe him. Rishi takes her inside and asks her to acknowledge the chemistry between Celina and Namrata while they are dancing. Dimple is happily surprised. Rishi asks her to keep this a secret though.

‘Jab koi baat…’, the song Dimple had requested for, begins to play. Dimple and Rishi are having a cute little chat. Anmol however spoils the moment. He is annoyed because he has been alone this whole time. Everyone around is a bit shaken. Anmol’s friends try to calm him down.

In the last scene, we see Namrata drawing clipart of two girls kissing while hoping that soon she may share her secret with Celina, and one day perhaps, with the world as well.
