In this finale episode we see Maqbool confessing to Babuji that he has come to kill him. 

He wants Kaleen Bhaiya to also feel the pain of losing a parent . As he points the gun at Babuji, Beena suddenly appears and stops him. Now the audience believes she is here to save Babuji, but then she does the unthinkable. She announces she will be the one to kill Babuji . Beena first trips Babuji from his wheelchair and then picks up a gun. Radhiya, the servant that works for Tripathis also appears. She too has been raped by Babuji. Radhiya gives Beena a butcher's knife to use  instead of the gun as it would inflict more pain. With this scene Mirzapur really gives in to it’s infamous image of visual violence.

In Bihar, we see Bharat meet Robin. Robin, thinking he is Shatrughan, the younger identical twin, starts talking about Golu. Robin knew Chota Tyagi was dealing opium with her and had a soft corner for her, but Bharat didn’t. He becomes suspicious and leaves.

Back at Balia, Guddu threatens to kill Lala for going behind his back to Bihar to meet -Chota Tyagi. Guddu says Shabhnam is the reason why he hasn't attacked him yet. Lala says he doesn't want Shabnam involved. He points out that Guddu is violent and has a lust for revenge, which he despises.

In Mirzapur, the Tripathis are at the funeral grounds for Babuji’s last rites. Munna has now lost his patience and tells his father that he is going to take the throne of Mirzapur by hook or by crook. Kaleen Bhaiya tells him that he has lost confidence and trust in him and that he is now looking up to his younger son, Beena’s newborn. Munna informs him he isn’t going to back down this time and leaves for the mansion. Beena calls Raja and tells him he must protect her son from Munna at all cost, which Raja knows to be death for Munna. 

Beena later calls and tells Guddu to attack the Tripathis at the funeral ground, as right now they are at their weakest. We also learn that she has made a deal with Guddu that her own child will get Mirzapur’s throne when he grows up. Until then, Guddu will occupy the position.

At the Mansion, Raja attacks Munna even though Munna wasn’t planning to hurt the baby. Munna ends up wounding Raja severely and asks him who had sent him. Raja lies and tells him that it was his father’s orders. Munna is enraged and calls Sharad for help. He says he is going to the funeral ground to kill Kaleen Bhaiya and Sharad should meet him there. Sharad has found his opportunity to capture the Mirzapur throne for himself.

As Guddu gets ready to attack Mirzapur, police raids Lala’s mansion. Police keeps Shabhnam and the doctor's daughter at gunpoint and forces Guddu to surrender. Maurya asks Ramakant to sit in the other car while they take Guddu into custody., On the way to the police station,Ramakant notices that the car Maurya had taken his son in is turning away from his car. He keeps the cop driving him at gunpoint and gets to the place Maurya plans to encounter Guddu. Ramakant begs Maurya to stop, but Maurya isn’t going to change his mind. The moment Maurya gets ready to pull the trigger, we hear a gunshot. Guddu looks behind him and finds Maurya dead. Ramakant has killed Maurya to save his own son.

Back in Bihar, Dadda has gathered his wife’s brother and Chota Tyagi to confront them about their secret opium trade. He forces Shatrughan to shoot his uncle as a punishment for going against him. When he refuses, Dadda tells Bharat to shoot the uncle and then later Golu too. This shocks Shatrughan and he pulls his gun on his older brother. A scuffle takes place in which the uncle and one of the identical brothers die. We are made to believe it's Shatrughan, but we are not so sure. 

Back at the funeral grounds a showdown is taking place. Sharad’s men, Guddu, Golu and Munna all are reaching here. Kaleen Bhaiya, even after being told that Munna is coming to kill him, lets his bodyguards go. He looks tired and depressed, awaiting his impending death. 

Munna pulls out his gun and points it at his father. Akhandanand doesn’t react. Munna waits and still keeps the gun pointed at him, but in the end doesn’t have the guts or the cruelty to murder his own father. At last, Akandanand, in a moment of fatherly love, gives the throne of Mirzapur to Munna.

The father son duo forget the bad blood between them and hug. Suddenly Kaleen Bhaiya is shot in the back. We see Guddu, Golu and their men enter the scene. Within a few seconds Munna is shot multiple times too. All this is happening while Sharad and his men are hiding and contemplating when to attack.

The audience is fairly shocked at this moment, Kaleen Bhaiya and Munna’s survival seems very bleak even though they are the frontrunners of the show. Kaleen Bhaiya gets shot again and rolls down the hill and is unconscious. Now Guddu meets Munna face to face and brandishes his gun. Munna closes his eyes and waits to be shot in the heart. When nothing happens, Munna opens his eyes . Guddu repeats the words Munna had said before killing his brother last season “hum wait hi karahe thai ki abb aap kholey” and then shoots him. This has to be one of the most shocking moments in any hindi web series ever made. No one expected the writers to kill their most famous character.

As Guddu moves to shoot the unconscious Akhandanand, Sharad has a change of heart and gets his men to open fire to protect Kaleen Bhaiya. Guddu and Golu get distracted and begin to fire back, while Sharad surreptitiously saves Akhandanand and takes him away in his car.

Guddu and Golu go to the Tripathi mansion and take the throne.

End of Mirzapur season 2.

That was a thrilling finale. Munna’s death is still difficult to comprehend. But since he was the main reason for this season’s revenge plot, his death was perhaps necessary for closure. This episode has a lot of loose ends. What will Kaleen Bhaiya do now? Will Guddu go back to Shabnam? Who really died, Shatrughan or Bharat? Why did Sharad save Kaleen Bhaiya?  We await season 3 with baited breath to get the answers.
