The film revolves around the story of a truck driver and his tussle to keep up with his shattering life.
The film, Milestone, originally called ‘Meel Patthar’ recently released its trailer on Netflix. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2020. It won several awards at the Venice, Busan and Singapore International Film Festivals. Milestone is going to be released on 7 May 2021 on Netflix globally for the audience to watch extensively. The fact that the film has been screened in so many prestigious International Film Festivals has doubled my excitement to watch it.
Milestone was shot in a village in Haryana by cinematographer, Angello Faccini. It revolves around the story of a recently bereaved Punjabi truck driver, Ghalib. He struggles to balance his personal and professional life. On the one hand, Ghalib is trying to overcome the grief of his deceased relative and on the other hand, he is threatened to lose his job to a new intern who he is asked to train. Ghalib has completed his mark of 500,000 km in the company and is afraid that a young driver will take over his job.
Milestone is directed by Ivan Ayr. Ayr says that the film ‘tells you where you are and how much further you have to go”. From what we see in the trailer, the film is expected to be dark and tragic. Milestone stars Suvinder Vicky as Ghalib. The co-actors are Lakshvir Saran and Mohinder Gujral. The film is produced by Jabberwockee Talkies and is set to release on the OTT platform on 7 May 2021.
