Made in Heaven Season 1 Episode 8: Pride and Bridezilla- Recap

Made in Heaven’s Pride and Bridezilla episode will warm your heart and will make you introspect.

Made in Heaven Season 1 Episode 8: Pride and Bridezilla- Recap

The eighth episode of Made in Heaven, Pride and Bridezilla opens with a scene where Karan files a PIL against Section 377 and attends news shows for interviews. In these interviews, he talks about his journey of learning about himself, then hiding his identity and then facing a judgemental society. We meet Tarana Ali, the bride (Maanvi Gagroo). She seems quirky. This episode however doesn’t cover much about her groom and wedding. Tarana doesn’t want things to be the conventional way. Instead she wants a cool music video! Honestly, I loved her vibe until she abused Jaspreet for not cooperating. Tarana is so obsessed with her wedding video that she ignores the fact that her father has gone into debt.

Tara and Adil have lost the spark because of all the turmoil their relationship has faced recently. Tara is totally disturbed. Adil genuinely tries to calm her down. I am unable to draw any conclusion about Adil yet. He’s so caring sometimes and then I see him with Faiza, cheating on Tara. In flashback, after the CCTV incident where Tara and Adil were caught; Natasha calls off the engagement with Adil. Soon, Tara and Adil meet in a club.

As Made in Heaven the series heads for its final episode, the protagonists often look back to their past and everything that’s been happening in the present makes sense.

We meet the Yadavs, an influential political family. Their daughter, Nutan is to wed Vishal and basically this wedding will mark a political alliance between their families. This wedding gets dramatic right from the start because the Yadavs restrict Tara and Karan from talking to Nutan. Faiza barges into Adil’s office because he’s not been answering her calls lately. She asks if he’s ever going to leave Tara. Adil is still guilty and is uncertain about leaving Tara. I think he’s confused - he clearly loves both Tara and Faiza and is unable to make up his mind about what he wants.

Back at Tarana’s wedding preparations, the bride wants something quirky, something matching her Delhi vibe. Khalil, a peon at Made in Heaven has taken a loan for his daughter’s wedding . He is bailed out by Tara and Karan from the loan. They take up the responsibility of organising his daughter, Asma’s wedding. Tara visits Khalil’s home and asks Asma if she has any special request, Asma innocently replies that she just wants a wedding cake. Brb, crying! Her tear filled eyes, right after Tara assures her of a wedding cake, look so pure!

Tara heads to a golgappa thela and I swear I haven’t seen her this happy while attending or hosting high-society parties. She is thrilled after having golgappe and shares this with Adil. He unintentionally hurts her saying those areas are filthy. This episode of Made in Heaven fills one more gap in Tara’s origin, there’s a flashback of Tara along with some other girls sitting in Princess Grooming Academy Remember the school Tara’s friend at Meera’s birthday party was talking about?. The same one. Girls are learning how to sit, how to talk, how to sip wine, how to not behave like someone belonging to a high class neighbourhood and ultimately how to leave your identity behind. The grooming academy taught girls how to effortlessly fit into a high-class society.

The Yadavs congratulate Made in Heaven on getting the wedding contract. They are extremely happy with Karan for speaking against the government. The Yadavs see this as a political stunt against the ruling party. So if Karan is involved in the wedding planning for the Yadavs it’s a great instance of opposition for them.

So Asma’s wedding preparations have begun. Chhap Tilak is playing in the background and my god Tara’s exuberance is contagious. Oh man! Faiza’s therapy sessions are amazing, the way her therapist rolls her eyes when Faiza talks about her married boyfriend who’ll leave Tara, when he thinks the time is right (Gasp!). All those looks her therapist gives, while probably wondering how many times Faiza will be the definition of foolishness, are too funny to deal with.

Next morning, Tara talks about Jauhari and his 10 percent stake in Made in Heaven with Adil. So Adil decides to meet Jauhari and take a look at this quarter’s report.

Asma’s wedding concludes happily. Later, Tara visits her sister’s home. Tara sees a pure give and take of a marriage, when her sister saves a little bit of chai aside for her husband and he brings home groceries for her. A pure blend of little things that a successful married life is built upon. Tara sees this perfect household and thinks of the life she could’ve had if she hadn’t chased the high-class life. She returns to her grooming academy, looks at the girls learning all that she’d learned to climb the social ladder. She talks to them and tells them that learning etiquettes, English, make up, clothing - all this is fine and there’s nothing to be ashamed about it. But at the end of her speech urges to hold on to their identities that are underneath all the façade. As she walks away, she tries to figure out what she really wants in life.

The episode Pride and Bridezilla of Made in Heaven has got us all pumped for the final episode. How will the character arcs end for Tara and Karan? As Tara progresses towards figuring out what she wants, Karan has already started walking on that path of fixing his past decisions. The next episode of Made in Heaven is going to be about the big Yadav wedding too! Looking forward to the last shaadi drama of the season. Although I do get a good vibe of getting Made in Heaven’s second season.
