Made in Heaven Season 1 Episode 2: Star Struck Lovers- Recap

Star Struck Lovers, indeed!

Made in Heaven Season 1 Episode 2: Star Struck Lovers- Recap

This Made in Heaven episode titled Star Struck Lovers begins with Harsimran Sethi (the bride) waking up next to someone she shouldn’t be with. She is horrified and elated at the same time. Elated because she scored the night with Bollywood heartthrob and actor Sarfaraz Khan (Pulkit Samrat)! The Bollywood actor was invited by the Made in Heaven team to surprise Harsimran. The night which was meant to make headlines for the alliance of Joginder Mann (the groom) and Harsimran, grabs eyeballs for the scandalous event where the bride and Sarfaraz get way too cosy.

Later as Harsimran collects her thoughts, there is a flashback to last night. Everybody is enjoying and going gaga over Sarfaraz for all the right reasons.

We are back in the present day, where the Khannas are planning the menu for their new factory’s launch party. Amidst discussions, Adil’s phone rings with someone called Office 2. Adil reacts and quickly puts away his phone as Tara approaches. And that is when the seeds of doubt are sown into her mind. Watching him cheat on Tara, you really wish Adil could make up a better excuse than covering up Faiza’s call by an office boy’s name.

Back at the hotel, Joginder has seen the photos of Harsimran and Sarfaraz getting cosy on the dance floor, but knows nothing beyond this. He is enraged and bangs the door of Khan’s room with a hockey stick waiting for Sarfaraz to get out. Nobody is stopping him, because the hotel is owned by his father.

Soon after getting the assurance of his manager, Sarfaraz opens the door. To his surprise the hot-headed sardar Joginder enters the room. While the fight gets a bit hilarious something interesting happens in between. Tara is also present in the room and finds Harsimran’s jewel piece on the side table. She quickly removes the neckpiece before Joginder can see it. This jewel piece would have obviously shocked Joginder and he would have called off the wedding. Tara has saved yet another marriage...or the wedding party at the very least.

The next step is deleting the CCTV footage of the most important evidence of last night’s chemistry between Sarfaraz and Harsimran. This news has now reached the parents of the bride and groom. In this scene we get to learn that besides being an arranged marriage the Joginder-Harsimran wedding is a joint venture of Mann-Sethi families as well. The latter however holds much more importance. After all the blame game is done and the business deal is put into danger, the onus is put upon the wedding planners for being careless. Now it is their responsibility to fix it.

While the Made in Heaven team is busy fixing this situation, their new employee Jaspreet Kaur unknowingly breaks a rule of the company. She is too excited about her fancy hotel room and posts photos on social media and lands up in trouble. We see her home, an average middle-class household where she seems to be the sole breadwinner. She crawls into a small corner with her idle brother by her side. The director Zoya Akhtar has drawn this parallel between her glitzy professional life and her contrasting personal life so wonderfully, that you eventually develop a soft corner for Jaspreet.

Later they decide to do a photoshoot of Joginder and Hasimran to sort out the differences and let the public know that all is well here. This photoshoot plan fails as Joginder is too furious to even look at his bride. Jaspreet comes to rescue and suggests that Harsimran cooking halwa and praying at Gurudwara would pacify Joginder. Tara talks to the bride and convinces her that this might be the only way to mend things.

To my surprise Jaspreet’s idea works. All it took was cooking and praying to clear the air off of Joginder and Harsimran’s relationship. Harsimran feels very guilty of cheating on her loving groom.

In the next scene Tara is with her dearest friend Faiza (Kalki Koechlin) where she swiftly expresses her concern for her relationship with Adil. Faiza comforts her. We get a flashback to Tara’s wedding and how Faiza backed her in front of those who called her a gold-digger.

The next day is the mehendi day. The bride feels nauseous and rushes to a corner. My immediate reaction was, is she pregnant with Sarfaraz? Thankfully the story isn’t dragged that much.

Harsimran feels awful and is approached by Karan. The conversation between both of them will definitely leave you in splits! It’s a much-needed, light-hearted chat amidst all the shaadi-drama. Karan calms Harsimran and frees her off all the guilt. Finally, the wedding takes place.

In the next scene we are taken to the launch party of Adil Khanna’s new factory. He applauds everybody’s efforts, appreciates his parents and endearingly acknowledges Tara’s importance in his life. That mere acknowledgement relieves Tara of her doubts regarding Adil.

In the following scene we meet Tara’s mother and sister. Tara clearly doesn’t like her family coming to the factory’s launch, I felt she was kind of embarrassed to have her family there because they were not as well-off as Tara and her in-laws. This was a quick scene, but left a lot to observe. Tara wants to get rid of her past life and if anyone or anything reminds her of it, she becomes a bit feisty.

The last and the most shocking scene of this episode is when Adil Khanna takes Faiza around the factory. There she is, the mystery woman Adil had been hiding from us and Tara. Yes, Faiza and Adil are together! Adil and Faiza are playing foul on our sweet Tara.

This episode dealt with a different type of couple this time. This wedding is as complicated as the one in the previous episode. Built on guilt, lies and business deal this union leaves you with an unsettling feeling. Yet again there’s a big question mark whether this union is actually sacred.
