London Confidential is an upcoming Zee5 original movie, set to release on 18th September 2020. The film stars Mouni Roy and Purab Kohli. 

What’s interesting about the story is that it is a spy-thriller set in the post pandemic era which makes it relatable and realistic.

The teaser has been presented well and establishes Mouni Roy as a composed and level headed RAW agent who takes her job seriously.

The focus of the movie follows the journey of RAW agents in London as they try to find evidence proving China’s involvement in the spread of the pandemic.

While the trailer looks interesting and it’s cinematography gives the viewers an intriguing aesthetic, the theme of the film has been subject to a lot of controversy. 

Critics argue that the film presents China as an unnecessary villain and promotes racial stereotypes. It is dangerous for artists to spread misinformation like that on a platform for millions of people to see. However, some people believe that the creators are simply exercising their creative liberty and we cannot be certain of the film’s intention until the entire feature is available for streaming.

We can only hope that the filmmakers adopt a conscious and proactive approach to storytelling and use this creative opportunity to portray an accurate depiction of this tragedy.
