Little Things: Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

Little Things talks about second guessing one’s decision.

Little Things: Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

Titled Leicester City F.C., this episode was different from the rest of the season. It started with Kavya in the middle of a conference someplace away from home. She sits there confused and uninterested, and to be honest, I shared that feeling as a viewer too.

But her interest is soon sparked by a young, good looking speaker who talks about the power of storytelling and living an adventurous life. Much like Kavya, I was on the edge of my seat too. Waiting for him to say something pretentious that I could roll my eyes to, but to my surprise, that moment never came.

Kavya has brief interaction with him and sparks fly all over the place. What is happening? Is Kavya interested in this new guy romantically? We don’t find out the answer to that anytime soon.

Kavya and her friends leave soon and get coconut water from a street vendor. But at the beach, Kavya finds the charming stranger sitting near the water. He gestures Kavya to join him, and so she does.

They talk about everyday life, ordinary things and how important it is to pursue one’s passion. Kavya begins to feel that she has a lot more in common with him than she does with Dhruv. But when he tells Kavya he’s going to be in Mumbai soon, she promptly says, “maybe my boyfriend and I could show you around.”

The two exchange phone numbers and part ways.

Back home, Dhruv gives Kavya the perfect welcome. He spent the entire day perfecting the Pithla Bhakri recipe as per Kavya’s preference. He even called up Kavya’s mother to ensure he had gotten everything right.

Kavya sits down, takes a bite and loves it so much she cannot fully contain herself. She asks where Dhruv ordered the food from and Dhruv simply smiles and says, “Momo’s kitchen...I made it.”

That’s when Kavya feels loved, but she also feels a little guilty. She blurts out an unexpected question, “Dhruv do you think there are people who are better suited for us?“

At this point, as a viewer, the tension started getting up for me. But I keep forgetting, Dhruv is the most sensible and relying partner out there! He quickly interjects, “of course there are people we relate with more. But that doesn’t mean they are a better match for us.”

It’s like Leicester City, who only won the Premier League once. They couldn’t create a team as well-coordinated as that one ever again. Dhruv goes on to say that just because they have different ideologies doesn’t mean they are not a good match for each other.

Kavya is truly relieved to hear him say that and goes on to tell him that the guy she met was a cool biker dude. Dhruv makes fun of the poor guy by saying “matlab Roadie type” to argue that he must be like one of the cheesy contestants on reality shows.

Kavya goes back to laughing and enjoying her perfect meal. And once again, we get to see the couple have an imperfectly perfect day.

3/5.
