The times we are living in are not very easy. Everyone is going through a hard time one way or the other and there’s very little positivity to be found around us. We are in the middle of a pandemic and the air is filled with unpleasant news. We patiently wait to reach the end of this difficult phase. Until then, here’s a list of some movies we can turn to, to uplift our mood and to give ourselves a much-needed break.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is a go-to movie for any and every emotion you’re feeling. Be it sorrow or joy, this movie will always lead you to feel rejuvenated at the end. The movie begins with a trip of a group of friends. The characters can be found in every group. Their banter seems to be relatable. The film consists of the right amount of every component. It has some amazing songs, colourful and beautiful locations, an aesthetic destination wedding (which will definitely make you dream of yours), and an overall cozy vibe.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, is a cult classic film of the 2000s and the guilty pleasure of many. Every kid of this generation has grooved to the songs of this film at some point in their lives. Kajol in all her glory, the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor, the dashing Hrithik Roshan and the evergreen Shahrukh Khan along with Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan sum up to make one of the most extravagant movie casts. The film is a combination of some light comedy, family drama, and path-breaking songs showcasing some well-choreographed dances. The acting performances and the strong emotional connect is the highlight of this film. This film never disappoints.

Zindigi Na Milegi Dobara, commonly referred to as ZNMD is another movie that has become a cult classic. Again, this movie also leaves one wanting to have a similar road trip with their friends. The movie highlights the intricacies of relationships and their evolution over time. Not to forget the beautiful and mesmerizing poetry by Javed Akhtar. The concept which drives the film is quite relatable and stays with a lot of us. It reminds us to live freely without the burden of unnecessary troubles.

Dear Zindigi showcases a young girl’s strife with herself and the process of her healing. The movie takes us on an emotional ride and is cathartic for some. The life lessons talked about in the movie make the viewers delve deep into their conscience and leave them introspecting for a while. The strong screenplay is supported by some phenomenal acting, which in turn increases the impact of the film. Watching this movie is a wholesome experience.
