Four More Shots Please!: Season 2 Episode 8 Recap - Hooking Up And Breaking Up

Umang and Samara's wedding preparations are in full swing. But, Umamg doesn't look happy. There is absolutely no contribution or say from Umang's side when it comes to the planning of the celebration. While Samara is busy with the photoshoots, Umang is losing herself in Samara's glamorous dream of the big fat Indian wedding. I can already see these girls' marriage hitting rock bottom.

What started as a sex-only thing between Anjana and Shashank, is taking a mental toll on Anjana. She hasn't said it out loud yet but she has started to develop feelings for Shashank. She is convinced that Shashank doesn't feel the same towards Anjana. He is still the desperate guy next door. Anjana's friends warned her that her relationship with Shashank wasn't going to be a happy sail but she didn't listen.

Meanwhile, Siddhi becomes uncomfortable when Amit addresses her as his girlfriend in front of a crowd. Siddhi doesn't want to be involved in a relationship whereas Amit already seems to be there. Cleary, Anjana and Siddhi are at two opposite ends of the spectrum.

Patch up, break up. Patch up, break up. The plot is driven by the character's sexual feelings. The number of motives which aren't driven by sex is as low as my ratings for each episode.

Damini has decided to share the news of the pregnancy with Warsi and Jeh. Turns out, Warsi is happy with being just a co-parent to the baby. Surely, letting Jeh know about the baby and its father is going to be one of the most difficult tasks Damini will ever do. Considering that their past is full of ups and downs, Jeh is not going to be happy with the surprise.

Meanwhile, Umang hasn't talked to her family in months but now, she has to invite her family for the wedding. Umang calls up her mom and is surprised to know that her sister-in-law has had a baby recently. Her mom straight away tells her that they won't be able to make it to Umang's wedding in Udaipur. Clearly, her orthodox family hasn't accepted her homosexuality yet.

Siddhi and Amit break up as Siddhi makes it clear that she isn't up for anything other than hooking up with him. It's Siddhi's obsession with Mihir that is keeping her away from getting emotionally attached to anyone else. Amit's expressions remind me of Shahrukh Khan from "Jag Soona Soona Lage". The guy is pretty shaken by Siddhi's rejection.

The episode ends as Damini informs Jeh about the pregnancy and the baby's father. Jeh is taken aback. He is hurt and blames Damini for breaking his trust all over again. Damini is crying and begging him to forgive her, but Jeh doesn't seem to care anymore. I feel bad for Damini. Her character is unable to catch a break from the pain.

Though the actors have done a good job with their realistic performances, it doesn't change the fact that Four More Shots is nothing but a marketing strategy in the name of modernity and feminism (read: pseudofeminism).

Episode Rating: 3/5
