Four More Shots Please!: Season 2 Episode 1 Recap - Together Forever?
Four More Shots Please! is here with another season.
Amazon Prime is back with the second season of Four More Shots. With a dramatic ending of the first season, season 2 is set four months after the previous season's ending. This time, Anu Menon has decided to take a bigger step forward in terms of lameness and cringe.
The pilot episode opens and Siddhi can be seen crying and drinking while roaming in the streets of Istanbul. Apparently, she is so privileged that her coping mechanism is backpacking through Europe. Certainly, Siddhi's first world problems aren’t relatable to the average person.
The girls haven't spoken to each other in months but a drunk call from Siddhi is all it takes for them to fly all the way from India to Istanbul. Apparently, Siddhi was so depressed that Umang felt it was best if she, along with Damini and Anjana, simply flew to Istanbul to check up on her.
Turns out, Siddhi is more than fine. Infact, she has found a new lover named Baran in Istanbul. The other girls are disappointed because they spent a great amount of money to fly and check on Siddi who is not having a mental or nervous breakdown. Siddhi justifies her drunk call as nothing more than an "emo moment".
The girls reconcile while roaming around in Istanbul and they make a pact to never ever fight again. Life updates: Umang broke up with Samara, Siddhi broke up with Mihir and her father doesn't talk to her anymore, Damini is currently writing a book on a controversial murder story, Anjana still has her daughter Arya's custody, is in a relationship with Arjun, and Varun got married to Kavya.
Surely, the girls have had a lot of emotional turbulence in their lives, and not having any support from their friends for so long must have been extremely hard on each of them. But a reconciliation miles away from home is hard to digest and is an unconvincing plot. I am trying to think of more stupid ways to make the pilot episode seem lamer.
The episode ends as the girls arrive back in Mumbai and pay a visit to the Truck Bar where Jeh works with his present girlfriend Myra. Clearly, Damini and Jeh still have issues to resolve but Myra's presence is a hurdle between them.
Episode Rating: 2.5/5
