Four More Shots Please!: Season 1 Episode 8 Recap - Fam-Jam-Wham-Bam

Four More Shots Please! puts a challenge in front of the girls as a new phase of life awaits them.

Four More Shots Please!: Season 1 Episode 8 Recap - Fam-Jam-Wham-Bam

Like every other kind friend, Jeh invites the girls and their friends to his parents’ wedding anniversary party. Before the party, everyone has a lot of catching up to do about each other. While the glances being exchanged between Damini and Jeh didn’t go unnoticed, Umang’s secret spills out and her friends are extremely thrilled and happy to know that she’s in love with The Samara Kapoor.

A few minutes into the episode and I’ve found myself repeating the 3 golden words over and over again: exhaustion...exhaustion...exhaustion. Getting to know about your bestie’s love life is cool, in fact very cool, but expressing your excitement through a massive group hug in humid weather is so...clingy.

Anjana and Arjun are taking their flirtation game to the next level in this episode. During the party, Arjun acts like a wannabe John Abraham while coming out of the pool. But his seduction scheme is not good enough for anyone except Anjana.

Jeh’s parents are already teasing Damini over the duo’s apparent love life, which by the way, hasn’t even begun yet. Prateik brings a vibrant element to Jeh’s character by smiling. He has the same sparkly depth in his eyes as Smita Patil had.

Meanwhile, Siddhi is trying to avoid Mihir as much as possible. He’s constantly chasing her from point A to B and she is repeatedly dodging him. According to Mohit, Siddhi is going through the MALV syndrome (Morning After Losing Virginity).

With their flirtation game on its peak, Anjana and Arjun have managed to make the attendees at the party smile and giggle with a lot of noisy sex. During one of the initial episodes, I thought that perhaps Four More Shots has more to the story than sex but that’s not the case anymore.

At the same time, an anonymous viewer from the striptease website is threatening Siddhi that he’ll expose her if she doesn’t strip for him in a private online session. Such a pervert this guy is. Turns out, he knows who Siddhi is and where she lives. In a hasty decision, she agrees to the guy’s demands but her plan fails because some kids play hide-n-seek around the house and she is unable to get any privacy. Eventually, she drops the idea of giving in to the pervert’s demands. She is going to take the tough road with this obstacle.

The episode is like a modern version of Hum Saath Saath Hain. But instead of discussing the number of kids they’ll bear, the girls sit at the edge of the pool drinking beer while they talk about how carefree their lives were when they were 21. Typical reminiscing over the beete huye din.

While Mihir expresses his feelings to Siddhi, Damini and Jeh share a kiss. Damini and Siddhi have a new chapter unfolding in their lives: ‘The guy in your life’ chapter. It’s bliss for both the girls but Umang’s is going through an emotional roller coaster as Samara has finally come out with her second thoughts about her relationship with Umang.

The episode ends with new developments in front of every character. But the story is not gripping. With realism thrown out of the window, the only thing which has been constant throughout the episode is my poker face.

Episode Rating: 1/5
