Four More Shots Please!: Season 1 Episode 2 Recap – Strong Girls Don’t Break
Four More Shots Please! puts its characters on a test as their life’s lows hit them.

Damini’s life takes a jolt as her issues with the board members keep getting worse. She tries to persuade Uma, one of the board members to stand up for Damini when no one else is ready to do so. But her efforts are of no use. What use is a character with job safety?
An accidental meeting between Anjana and her ex-husband’s girlfriend Kavya further heats up Anjana’s jealousy. Kavya’s niceness towards Anjana gives the latter a what-a-bitch moment. Anjana still hasn’t moved on from her past. What use is a character with emotional stability?
Meanwhile, Umang defends herself against a molester at the gym, who also happens to be a client. Obviously, she loses her job within a few minutes. Again, what was the question of job safety?
While our other Poo(s) are busy struggling with their ongoing miseries, Siddhi is making the best out of waste. Not literal waste. She enrolled for a beginner's ballet class not knowing that it was for kids of the age 6-10. She looks funny yet adorable in her fluffy ballet dress along with people half her height. Her character has these innocent and fun-loving quirks to it which makes me want to see more of her.
An evening at the bar with their drinks along with a lot of cribbing helps the girls ignore the ongoing shit in their lives. Clearly, they have trucks of money rolling in their bank accounts to maintain such expensive defence mechanisms.
The next day, Damini is stressed with the board's pressure to censor her stories and decides to go against all odds to get done what she is known for; fearless journalism. She encourages her team of journalists to take a stand against the board and work on sensitive stories no matter how much it makes the board's ass hurt. Damini knows how to get her work done. Sayani has brilliantly brought out the character's nuances with her performance.
Anjana and Damini’s obsession with people is climbing mountains. While Anjana mistakenly calls her assistant Prachi, Kavya, Damini is trying her best to impress Dr Warsi. Though Warsi doesn’t reciprocate Damini’s casual flirtations, he notices her OCD and recommends that she visit a therapist. Damini being Damini tells him that it’s not her brain but her hormones and vagina which need fixing. She goes red when Warsi tells her that her vagina is perfect. Who wouldn’t go red when their crush appreciates their vagina, and that too a gynaec!
Siddhi’s apparently mean mom has set her up on a date with a rich Gujju man. The guy is all about himself and his money. Uh...so disgustingly narcissist. It’s a huge turn off for our Bollywood buff Siddhi when the guy says, “I hate Bollywood”. This guy has a weird foot fetish. He starts touching and licking Siddhi’s foot while she is sticking her head out of the sunroof of his car. Disgusting. And acts like a poor victim when Siddhi accidentally smacks his nose with her foot. I am laughing at this guy with disgust.
Another evening. Another meetup at the bar. Another conversation, full of rants. While Anjana is busy obsessing over Kavya, Siddhi is hitting the target on the dartboard every time she yells her mother’s name. Like always, the girls drink their four shots.
Post drinks, Damini stays behind to spend some time with Jeh. While Damini and Jeh bond over a Japanese drink, mildly drunk Anjana visits Varun. She is feeling lonely and missing her old life. She is quick to realise how awkward it might become for her and Varun if she stays longer and takes off.
Meanwhile, Damini gets a surprise visit from her sex buddy while heading home. Damini has a strange rule, that no one gets to stay the night at her place. This is one of her quirks. So her friend leaves after the two have sex and Damini sleeps in her cocoon, tugging her pillow tightly.
The episode ended just like the last one as the characters sleep after another shitty day. I am still trying to figure out what there is in the storyline which makes this show one of the most-watched shows on Amazon Prime. Will keep you guys posted.
