Chehre: Trailer Breakdown
Chehre is a suspense thriller film revolving around a bunch of old men and their penchant to play a game. A young business tycoon also gets trapped in their game and later becomes suspicious of them.
The thriller drama film, Chehre has released its trailer. For a huge fan of suspense-thriller films like me, the trailer seemed very enticing. Chehre is directed by Rumi Jaffery and produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. The film features Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi and Rhea Chakraborty in lead roles. The film was set to release on 17 July 2020, but due to the ongoing situation of Covid-19 pandemic, it had to be postponed.
As the trailer goes, a group of old friends gather in a house in a snow covered area for recreation and get involved in an addictive and impassioned game of law and justice. They call it the ‘mock trial’, where they set an atmosphere for court hearings and play roles of the judge, the lawyer and the suspect. Karan Oberoi, played by Emraan Hashmi, comes to meet Veer Sahay, played by Amitabh Bachchan. Karan is a business tycoon. Karan gets consumed in Veer and his friends' game until he feels suffocated by it. He is asked to play the role of a suspect and the other people in the room will be judges and lawyers. He is being accused of crimes he claims not to have committed. The game heats up to a degree where Karan finds these people suspicious. Veer Sahay's dialogue, "In our court, judgement prioritizes justice" has really made me curious to know what will happen next. It can be interpreted from the trailer that the location for shooting and Binod Pradhan’s cinematography is going to add to the essence of the story. The colour correction of Chehre seems absolutely right for a serious film like this one. Colour correction means to balance out the colours of each footage to to match a consistent standard of appearance on screen.
The trailer has received mixed reviews. Twitterati is abuzz that Amitabh Bachchan’s character in this film is similar to the one in Badla. But, the storyline in the trailer looks quite engaging to me. Let us see how the rest of the film unfolds.
