Breathe: Into the Shadows Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: Wings and Chains
With blood on Avi’s hands, what new demand does the kidnapper have now in this episode of Breathe: Into the Shadows?

The third episode of Breathe: Into the Shadows shows us the consequences of the gruesome murder of Pritpal Singh Bharaj in the previous episode. Abha is on her morning run and her mind is clouded by thoughts of the previous day. She stops to sit on a bench and when she looks up, is surrounded by the kidnapper from all sides. She lets out a scream and wakes up from her dream.
Prakash and Kabir settle down in Delhi. Kabir goes to meet Meghna.
In the next scene, we’re taken to an animation studio. Meghna works here. She is wheelchair-ridden. She seems vibrant and chirpy. Kabir reaches the animation studio and sees her enjoy tea with her colleague outside. He goes up to meet her but turns back halfway through.
In captivity, Gayatri and Siya form a strong bond. While the kidnapper is away, Gayatri tries to break a wall in the washroom in order to escape. Siya is outside, keeping an eye on a card pyramid that they have made. If the card pyramid breaks, it is a signal for the girls that the kidnapper is back. Siya smartly alerts Gayatri and she quickly comes out of the washroom. The kidnapper enters the girls’ room and drops the essential items he’s bought for them. The innocent Siya gives him a pen drive, asking for new movies.
At home, Avi is disturbed after murdering an innocent man while Abha prepares for her daughter’s arrival.
At the crime branch, a senior inspector, Zeba Rizvi is back from a major raid where she has injured her arm. Kabir and Prakash are inducted into Delhi’s crime branch.
Abha makes several delicacies for her daughter’s return. However, Siya never comes. Disheartened, Abha sleeps in Siya’s room.
Elsewhere, Shirley is at her home. A certain Alan calls her and thanks her for the shoes she gave him. It looks like he is Shirley’s brother. He thinks that her sister works at a call centre.
The case of Pritpal’s murder is transferred to the crime branch. The team sits together to examine the video of his murder. Kabir notices that Pritpal always has a pen hooked on his shirt but the pen can’t be seen at the time of his murder. So, the pen probably fell somewhere in the dump yard. The DCP is impressed with Kabir’s minute observation and gets him to lead the case. This doesn’t go down well with Zeba.
Another parcel from the kidnapper awaits Avi and Abha. It has another video in which the kidnapper tells them about the second step to save their daughter. Avi and Abha will have to kill again! This time, the target is an entrepreneur, Natasha Garewal. The emotion that has to be evoked in Natasha is lust. Abha is disappointed and tells Avi to go to the police but he thinks it is too late to seek help now. The video also has a clip of an emotional conversation between Siya and Gayatri about Siya’s parents. This melts Avi and Abha.
Back at the crime branch, we learn that Zeba’s injury is fake as she unhooks her hand sling in the washroom. She goes to congratulate Kabir for getting the lead on the case. While turning back, she mentions something about the Mandar Vardhe case and Meghna. Looks like this is related to Kabir’s past and his jail sentence. Sub-inspector Jaiprakash introduces himself to Kabir and Prakash. There seems to be an unspoken rivalry between Prakash and Jaiprakash.
Avi goes through Natasha Garewal’s social media and follows her life. She has an upcoming book launch event and Avi decides to attend it. Meanwhile, Abha gets a job offer as a chef at a hotel. It is for the night shift. She speaks to Avi and he suggests that she accept it since everything should look normal.
Natasha launches her book, ‘Wings and Chains’. She gives a speech through which we learn that Natasha is a homosexual woman. This startles Avi. How will he lure a woman who is not attracted to men?
Avi and Abha talk about Natasha in her clinic. He tells Abha about Natasha’s sexuality when his secretary gives him a pen. Suddenly, something strikes him. He remembers that a pen had fallen from Pritpal’s shirt while Avi was killing him. Avi immediately rushes to the dump yard.
At the dump yard, the search for Pritpal’s pen is already underway. Avi sees this and disguises himself as a worker involved in the search. He gets to work and finally spots the pen. However, as he goes to grab it, another worker picks it up and gives it to Kabir. This could pose a danger to Avi and Abha. The episode concludes.
The third episode of Breathe: Into the Shadows has a lot of plot points- Kabir and Meghna, Zeba’s jealousy, Gayatri’s and Siya’s escape plan and of course, Avi’s and Abha’s misery. This episode also doesn’t reveal much about Shirley and her life. How will Avi and Abha murder Natasha to save their daughter?
