Aarya: Season 1 Episode 4 Recap

Aarya’s bank accounts have been sealed. Khan informs her that Sangram has been beaten up in the prison. He once again extends to her the opportunity to move her family to New Zealand in exchange for the flash drive and Aarya closes the door in his face.

Khan’s character arc is poorly written. His character, though morally correct, does not present him as a likeable person. Repetitive dialogues and constant ambush seem to be his key characteristics.

Aarya consults with the family accountant who tells her that they cannot withdraw any more money from the bank as they have reached their overdraft limit.

Aarya’s older son Veer is having troubles of his own. He takes his new friend Pallavi over to his grandfather’s haveli where they catch his grandfather in a compromising position with his girlfriend.

After Pallavi helps Veer deal with the incident and makes sure he's calm, she drops him home where Aarya is trying to guess the password to unlock the flash drive. Veer suggests that it might be Tej’s favourite book or favourite song. Aarya enters the name of his favourite song - Bade Acche Lagte Hain, and boom, unlocked.

Seriously, how was that not their first guess? Tej’s obsession with the song had been introduced early into the series.

Aarya finds all the proof including photos of opium processing plants and details of workers in the flash drive. She finds out about an employee named Fatima who has been safeguarding some money for the Sareen family.

Aarya enlists Daulat’s (Sikander Kher) help to track down Fatima since he has been a reliable employee of the family for many years. While Daulat has been around all along, his only job so far has been to help Aarya stay calm. In fact, the two share a wonderful chemistry on screen. But now it's time for him to do some real work.

On the same day, Sangram talks to his lawyer as they visit the magistrate to discuss bail terms.

Aarya tracks down Fatima and Aru practices fusion music inspired by The Gita with Bob. Honestly? Her increased interaction with Bob is concerning to me. Do they have some plans for these two characters?

Aarya informs Shekhawat’s men that she has the money with her and invites them to the popular local temple. Daulat observes from a distance.

Aarya tells the goon that she is not afraid of him and that she has “back up” with her.

After a successful day of work, she heads home for some quality time with her children and their new puppy - Mango. Adi, the youngest son, decides Mango will sleep in his room as the others protest.

The episode ends on a happy and promising note.
