Aarya Season 1 Episode 2 Recap

The family hears about the shooting and arrives at the hospital. Soon after ACP Khan (Vikas Kumar) arrives. He is the policeman investigating the case and he requests to speak with Aarya privately.

Khan informs her that Tej was working with the police to help expose the drug business so that he could safely move his family to New Zealand. He asks Aarya if she has the pen drive containing the proof which would imply his innocence. She dismisses the officer and asks him not to threaten or harass her when she is with her family.

This reluctance on Aarya’s part doesn’t make much sense to me because if she truly wanted to get away from the illicit businesses and save her husband, then she should have cooperated with ACP Khan. I think she wants to confirm that Khan is someone Tej trusts and not just an officer jumping on the opportunity to bust a trade.

Of course her dismissive behaviour only makes Khan more suspicious. He decides to raid the Sareen household while Tej is still in the hospital.

In the midst of all this, Aarya is clearly cracking under the pressure. She lashes out at Jawahar and accuses him of trying to kill her husband. Jawahar refutes the claim immediately while his wife Maya (Maya Sarao) starts crying. Aarya reminds Jawahar that he threatened to kill Tej earlier at the wedding and so it’s possible that he was conspiring against Tej all along.

Later when Aarya returns to the house in order to get a quick change of clothes and some refreshments for the family, she finds ACP Khan and other law enforcement agents at her door. They begin raiding the house in front of her children who are dumbfounded by all of this.

Turns out, Aarya does have the pen drive with her.

Finally! An interesting turn of events. What is she hiding? Does she have plans to take care of the business by herself? This should be a fun journey to follow.

Aarya hides the pen drive from the police even though they threaten her and instruct her to go through a pat down. Aarya’s children were perhaps the most resilient through all this because they keep still, listen to their mother, and back her up every step of the way. However, one can tell that Aarya’s daughter Aru (Virti Vaghani) is starting to crack under the pressure. She misses her father a lot and it’s difficult for her to put on a strong front.

Aarya outsmarts the police and heads to the hospital, where Tej’s condition is stabilising. The family heads to the room to visit him but his stats begin to decline rapidly.

Moments after that, Tej dies in front of his already traumatised wife and children, while Aarya’s parents, sister and family friends stand there with their heads hanging low.

Aarya is ready for revenge and decides to find the person who killed her husband and make them pay.

This episode was high on emotions and establishes Aarya as a resilient and fierce protagonist, for that, it gets a rating of 3/5.
