The upcoming film, 83 is dedicated to the grand World Cup victory of Indian cricket team in 1983. The match was against West Indies. India won under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. The match remains one of the most memorable ones for India even today.

The film features Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, Deepika Padukone as Romi Dev and Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar. We also see Punjabi singers like Harrdy Sandhu and Ammy Virk in the film. 83 is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Reliance Entertainment, Phantom Films and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Ranveer Singh went through a crazy fitness regime to look like Kapil Dev in the film. When he shared his first look as Kapil Dev on Instagram, people were thrilled. His makeup and physique made him look so similar to the cricketer!
